I am writing to express my interest in applying as part-time professor in Structural Engineering, as advertised on the weekly newspaper of the College of Engineering.

I am expecting to finish my doctorate degree requirements at the University of Pennsylvania at the end of this year. I want to pursue my teaching career right away and I am greatly interested to obtain an adjunct faculty position at the University of Texas. I was greatly fascinated with the advanced engineering research programs as well as the strong reputation of your faculty worldwide.

I believe that my extensive knowledge and wide experience in the field would fit the qualifications you need in your department. My outstanding academic background and six year of experience working as a licensed structural engineer helped me to develop my skills as a researcher and instructor. My doctoral dissertation also focuses on advanced engineering techniques, which I find would be a great addition to the success of your teaching department.
