Respected Sir,

I am writing this letter to apply for the position in the board of education. I came to learn that Mr. Williams is retiring from the position hence there will soon be a place vacant in the board. As I know that the process of selection for the position will be through election and hence I am planning to give my candidature for the same. I would like to work beforehand to gain experience and built up the skills of what is required of the position.

I have been an active member of the school in the area where my children studied in Washington. Due to that experience I have gained the knowledge of how the school administration works and what are the requirements that a member of the board of education needs to fulfill. I have also tried to resolve some of the issues in the previous school of my children.

I have the experience and the caliber to be an active member of the board of education. I hope you will consider my application for the post.
