Sub – Property tax appeal letter.

Dear Mr. Chris

I am writing this letter to appeal against the property tax bill no 567/ER dated 20th July 2012 send to my residence. The property tax bill of $5000 has being calculated of my residence for the financial year 2012 -2013 by assuming the total value of my property at $500000. The value of my property was valued at $150000 by your department in the last financial year i.e. 2011-2012 for which I had paid a property tax of $ 1500 only. I would like to know the reason for which the value of my property has being increased by over three hundred% in just one year. Please do a proper enquiry into the matter so that I can get the property tax dues bill.

I strongly believe that you will take firm steps to bring down the property tax bill that has being send to my residence form your department. I will look forwards for positive reply from your side. Please let me know if any documents are needed from my side.

Yours Sincerely

James Hopes

(Property Owner)

Appeal letter can be used in situations where you are seeking some change or rectification or in case you are looking for some form of help. In any case, it follows a business letter format.

It is important to write appeal letters on a formal letter-head as they help to establish your credentials. Begin the letter by introducing yourself and the purpose of your writing. Keep the tone of the letters polite and cordial.

While writing appeal letters, it is best to keep emotional statements at bay and stick to facts and logic. Elaborate your appeal in a consistent and rational manner without losing track of your aim. As you expect action in some form or the other, your line of argument should persuade the reader in that direction.

Keep the letters short, as most people do not have patience to through elaborate letters. The concluding paragraph must reiterate your cause. Once again put forth your appeal and the need for action. Sign off after thanking the reader for going through your letter.

Subject: Appeal letter to authority.

Dear Mr. Chris

I am writing this letter to appeal to your authority for poor condition of the drinking water supply in our locality. I would like to inform you that I am a resident of 34, Residential Towers, Western London for the last 22 years. I have never seen such acute drinking water supply shortage in our locality ever in my life. Earlier drinking water supply was available for twenty four hours in our locality. Six months ago the drinking water supply was curtailed to twice a day for a frequency of one hour only. Now for the last one month drinking water is supplied only once on every alternate day. I appeal you to investigate into the matter as it is becoming impossible for us to survive on such a small quantity of drinking water supply.

I would request you to kindly consider my appeal and take necessary action for improving the same as soon as possible. I look forward to get a favorable reply from your side in this regard.

Yours Sincerely

Dear Mr. Granny

I am writing this letter to appeal against the decision of your school’s board to issue transfer certificate to my son on the ground of bad behavior. My son Name Nathan Campbell is a regular student of upper high class in your school for the last nine years. I received a letter from the school board on 23rd July 2012 that my son has being expelled from the school and is being issued a transfer certificate because of the bad behavior shown by him towards his English language teacher. I would request the school board to kindly forgive my son as this is his first offence. I promise that he will never commit a similar offence in the future.

I would request you to kindly review your decision as it is a question my son’s future. I am ready to give an undertaking that I will automatically withdraw my child from you school in case he commits similar mistake in the future. Once again I kindly request you to please look into my appeal.

Subject: Appeal letter to judge.

Dear Mr. Henry

I am writing this letter to appeal your Excellency for directing the police authorities for probing behind the culprits involved in carrying our burglary at my residence. I would like to inform you that I have lodged a FIR number 456/ERC with the Northern London Police regarding the burglary that took place at my home on 10th June 2012. The burglars broke into my house when all of my family members were out of the town to attend one of our close relatives wedding ceremony. The thieves have fled with all the valuables, merchandise, goods and motor vehicles worth $200000. The police authorities assured me that they would be catching the culprits soon. Unfortunately no firm steps have been taken by the authorities during this one month’s time. I would request you to kindly direct the police personnel to carry our high level enquiry in this matter.

Hope that you will consider my appeal and take necessary action against the same. I will eagerly wait for a positive reply from your side. I would like to thank you for considering my appeal application.

Sub – Transfer appeal letter.

Dear Mr. Alex

I am writing this letter to appeal against transfer order number 45/90 from your department dated 23rd July 2012. I have being transferred from my present Central London office to the company’s upcoming project site situated in the remote areas of southern London. I would like to mention that I have joined the company’s central London office just three months back. The company transfer policy clearly indicates that no personnel could be transferred before three years of service at a particular location. I would like to ask the reason for the injustice shown to me from your office. I have just settled in central London with my small family comprising of two growing kids. It would be virtually impossible for me to shift my family to southern London in such a short time frame.

I hope that you will consider my situation and appeal and take necessary action for canceling my transfer order. I will eagerly wait for a reply from your side in this regard.
